According to The Hollywood Reporter, chapters of the book will be read by celebrities like Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Eddie Redmayne, David Beckham, Stephen Fry andNoma Dumezweni.
Every week until the end of June, fans can relive their childhood by tuning into Spotify and Spotify Kids, as well as the Harry Potter at Home website an initiative launched by Rowling in an effort to keep old and new fans entertained amid the coronavirus pandemic. As RNZs Katie Scotcher reports this morning, Ukraines president, Volodymyr Zelensky has been invited to address parliament. RNZ understands arrangements are being made for Zelensky to speak via video link to MPs. He would be the second head of a foreign government to address New Zealands parliament. The first was Australian prime minister Julia Gillard in 2011. A date for Zelenskys address has not yet been set, but it is understood it wont be this week. Users of two major streaming services woke up to a nasty surprise in their inboxes this morning: the cost of subscribing to both Apple TV+ and Disney TV+ is rising, and the amount is significant.
Apple TV+, which charged $8.99 per month on launch, will now cost $12.99. Disney, which costed $9.99, will now cost $14.99. Apple also increased the price of its music streaming service from $12.99 to $16.99 per month.
An Apple spokesperson says its music service is increasing because of an increase in licensing costs, and it means artists and songwriters will earn more from their music being streamed. Apple TV+ is increasing because we started at a very low price with just a few shows and movies. Now, it calls its range, which includes Severance, Slow Horses and Prehistoric Planet, extensive.
In a statement shared with customers, Disney says: We are updating our prices as we continue to bring you even more great entertainment on Disney+.

The streaming service will be the exclusive home to the audio recordings of a star-studded reading of the first book in the famed Harry Potter series. Spotify has partnered with Wizarding World and author J.K. Rowling for the serialized release of the audio through a project dubbed Harry at Home. The video recordings of each chapter will be exclusive to the Wizarding World website.
The first chapter, The Boy Who Lived, is narrated by Daniel Radcliffe, who played the titular wizard in the film adaptations of the books. The recording is available now to Spotifys free and premium listeners on its regular app and on the standalone Spotify Kids app in the markets where it is available. A new chaper will be released every week. Future narrators include David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Eddie Redmayne, and Noma Dumezweni.
This Harry Potter project is a newer effort for Spotify. While it has been landing exclusive content deals in podcasts, audiobooks havent been as big a focus. The Harry Potter series is a fond friend I like to return to whenever I’m in need of a pick-me-up. Fans of the JK Rowling masterpiece will know that while the movies are great, it’s the books that really bring the magic to life and if you haven’t read them by now then I really don’t know what you’re waiting for.
However, if reading isn’t really your thing, you may be interested to know that a number of famous faces have signed on to narrate for the audiobook version. Available on Spotify, the project is part of the Harry Potter At Home hub which launched back in early April.
Brought about by JK Rowling herself, the hub aims to cast a banishing charm on boredom by providing parents, teachers and carers working to keep little ones amused with a little extra help. So far there are five chapters available to listen to – including ones narrated by the boy who lived, Daniel Radcliffe, Noma Dumezweni , Eddie Redmayne and Stephen Fry.
