Originally, it was thought the threequel would repeat the two-year release gap of the first two movies and come out on November 20, 2020. This date was never set in stone, though and when production was pushed back by Warner Bros, we knew that 2020 wasn’t going to happen for the threequel.
It was then set for November 12, 2021. However, just when filming was due to begin in March 2020, the pandemic saw the start of production delayed until September. And then came the exit of Depp, leading to the movie being pushed back to July 2022.
Afteranother production delay in early February 2021, filming wrapped later that month according to composer James Newton Howard: “I know that David Yates has finished shooting, and I’m chomping at the bit to get going.”
So, hopefully, with filming done , the current 2022 release date will stick and there will be no further release delays.
The fourth and fifth movies have never had release dates, but we originally assumed we could expect them in November 2022 and November 2024, which now definitely won’t be the case.
There’s no guarantee that the third movie will be a hit, so it could well be that it marks the end of the Fantastic Beasts series. So we could be waiting a while to see if we’ll get a fourth and fifth movie.
Assuming they do happen though, don’t expect a fourth movie anytime before 2024.

Since NBCUniversal owns the rights to air the series on TV, watching them on one of its channels is the next best place to find Hogwarts adventures. You can frequently find marathons airing on Bravo, SYFY, and USA. There are also recognizable figures on the dark side of the Fantastic Beasts 3 cast, with Ezra Miller back as troubled Credence Barebone. The biggest change is Grindelwald. Johnny Depp has stepped down from the role following a court battle, and Mads Mikkelsen has been cast as his replacement, while Colin Farrell who many hoped would return to the series was not able to take on the part as he’s committed to filming The Batman. The switch, though, is not something Mikkelsen has talked to Depp about, per The Sunday Times.
