Tickets for the month-long Wizarding Weeks celebration cost around $5 for each film. If youre planning on watching the entire collection, youre looking at spending $40 . Not a horrible price to pay to relive the fond memories Harry Potter has left us with over the years, right?

Daniel Radcliffe Was Handpicked By Chris Columbus To Play Harry Potter
During the casting process, the filmmakers had a hard time finding the right young actor to play Harry Potter, that was until Columbus saw Radcliffe in the BBC adaptation of David Copperfield.
“Immediately a light bulb went off in my head,” he said. “I said, ‘This is Harry Potter. This is the kid we’ve been looking for for months.'”
While Columbus was sold on Radcliffe playing Harry Potter, Radcliffe’s parents were not. Since filming was originally supposed to take place in L.A., they thought it would a “huge disruption to his life.”
Producer David Heyman eventually convinced Radcliffe’s father to let him audition, and the rest is history.

Emma Watson Almost Left The Franchise
Watson revealed that she almost left the Harry Potter franchise around the time Order of the Phoenix started production, due to the stress from filming
“People definitely forget what she took on and how gracefully she did it,” Felton said.
While Radcliffe and Grint had each other to lean on and Felton had his “cronies,”Felton noted that Watson was all by herself.
“The fame thing had finally hit home in a big way,” Watson said, adding that she felt very lonely during that period of her life.

Though the special is pegged to the anniversary of Sorcerer’s Stone, it will cover all eight Potter films from the casting of Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint at a young age through their teen years growing up on movie sets and finishing with Deathly Hallows Part 2.
HBO Max promises “brand-new cast discussions,” as well as “insights from the creative team behind the magic.”

Harry Potter creator and author J.K. Rowling will have a small part in Return to Hogwarts, despite all the controversy swirling around her.
WarnerMedia confirmed in a press release that “comments” from Rowling will be included in the special, though it had originally left her name off of reunion announcements and marketing materials.
Those comments, EW can confirm, are taken from archival interviews from years earlier. The writer was invited to participate in a new interview for the reunion, but Rowling’s team felt that the previously shot footage was more than adequate.
Rowling, who states she’s not transphobic, remains a polarizing figure for repeatedly spreading ideology linked to the anti-trans TERF movement , which rejects the idea that trans women are women.
Prominent LGBTQ organizations and activists continue to denounce such statements. Many Harry Potter stars, as well as Potter fan sites that have fueled the fandom, have distanced themselves from Rowling in recent years.

The streaming rights to Potter seem to be constantly in flux, given the high demand for them. As of right now, both HBO Max and Peacock have of the movies, which is why you’ll find them on both platforms even though they are offspring of Warner Bros., which is owned by WarnerMedia, which owns HBO Max.
That’s because, years before the launch of the bounty of streaming services we know today, WarnerMedia leased some of the streaming and TV rights to Harry Potter through 2025. The movies arrived on Peacock as of October 2020, disappeared for a bit, and then re-apparated in 2021 as part of NBCUniversal’s deal to stream them during “windows.”

All Eight Harry Potter Films Return To Theaters For 20th Anniversary
The Harry Potter movie franchise is turning 20 years old this year , and Harkins Theatres is getting in on the celebration. Starting August 27, fans can head to select nationwide Harkins Theatres to watch all eight films in the Harry Potter series! The movies will be playing through September 23.
You can purchase tickets and find more information on Harkins.com. Each movie will be screened on multiple days, so if a particular day doesnt work for you there are other options. And of course you can watch the Harry Potter films in whatever order youd like, chronological or otherwise. I know we all have our favorite films within the franchise, so this will be fun however you go about it.
The downside is that while Harkins only has theaters in four states: California, Colorado, Oklahoma and particularly Arizona. So if youre in that part of the country, youre in luck. For everyone else, I wouldnt be surprised if other theater chains got the same idea.
