Your magical experience begins as soon as you walk into the building. All around the lobby are canvases with various Harry Potter characters, as well as props and other cool artifacts hanging off the walls.
Even the task of waiting in line is a joy for this tour.
The queue moves very quickly and there is plenty for you to nerd out about as you wait.
Most notably, Harrys cupboard under the stairs, is right next to the queuing area, ensuring that you get a perfect view of this iconic set.
Youll notice that groups are taken in based on their spot in line, rather than their timed reservation.
This is why there is some flexibility when it comes to your arrival time.
If youre a few minutes late, no worries, just hop in the queue and you will make it in all-the-same.
The tour begins with a brief video introduction to the franchise, followed by a preshow featuring Rupert, Daniel and Emma themselves.
As this preshow concludes, the screen reveals the doors to the Great Hall! During my tour, they invited any birthday kids to come up and help open the doors.

A Fun Experience With Poor Hygiene
A fun and detailed experience, a long and wonderful tour! Minus points for the poor hygiene. Tables were dirty at the lunch area and toilets unclean and not functioning.

Great time had by all, you can take your own lunch and eat in the area before you start the tour or you can get food from there. Its a bit pricey for what you get but thats to be expected. Its not the best but it does the job. The tour is great but you will need some patience if your trying to get photos of some of the things. The stamp guide was a little frustrating we couldnt find them all and couldnt see anyone around to ask. The day was great my daughter was thrilled by it all.
Visited with my daughter for the third time and loved it! Lots of new things added – Gringotts is especially great. Death Eater displays very good and loved how they stayed in character. The food was far better than we expected, with little queueing. Didn’t like the way staff behaved when the Death Eaters appeared, but everyone else was lovely. Would suggest joining first tour if you can, and then you can park easily and spend as long as you like in the tour.

Even Muggles Can Have Fun
I havent read any of the books , and have only seen a couple of the movies. I only know the barest details of the whole saga. But I was bowled over by the quality of the sets, costumes, models, and the interactive exhibits and the special effects and models.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and of course the kids did too. For me, the best bits were Diagon Alley , and the huge model of Hogwarts used in the movies, which is the last exhibit on the tour. Its a very comprehensive attraction, covering every aspect of the making of the films.

You will definitely want to check the website for up-to-date opening times, but generally throughout the year the studio is open from 8.30am through to 10pm. More specifically:
- Doors open at 8.30am
- First tour starts at 9am
- Final tour starts at 6.30pm
- Studio closes at 10pm
These times do vary by day. In terms of dates, the Studio is open every day of the week. There are some exceptions, it is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day .

The Forbidden Forest And The Ministry Of Magic
The Ministry of Magic is one of the larger sets created for the films, used for scenes involving hundreds of cast members and extras. Many of these were actually crew members dressed up in cloaks, beards and hats.
The Forbidden Forest set was recreated for the Studios. If youre brave enough, take the path that leads to the lair of the terrifying Aragog who lies in wait amongst the trees. Arachnophobes or small children may want to take one of the safer, less scary routes through the forest.
