A jewellery designer, Freeman Designs, has created a replica of the Golden Snitch with a secret compartment for an engagement ring.
The Golden Snitch hangs on a chain and appears to be a necklace until the owner uses a little key, in the design of a broomstick no less, to open the Snitch up.
Inside the design is the engagement ring.
It has the words ‘I open at the close’ etched onto the outside of the golden charm.
Speaking about the design, Freeman jewellers have said:
“The Snitch is made with the aid of 3D computer modeling, which is then 3D printed and cast in Sterling Silver using the Lost Wax Casting Process.
With over 30 hours of attentive hand work and scrutiny to finish it to the highest of standards. Hand engraved with ‘I Open at the Close’ and the lucky receiver’s name on the inside. It is fully hand polished, the catch and internal mechanisms are handmade.”

This Golden Snitch Engagement Ring Box Comes With A Magical Proposal Story

This proposal story is more exciting than a rousing Quidditch match and more heartwarming than a mug of butterbeer.
Uriel Palma was deployed in Egypt as an infantryman in the U.S Army when he decided to propose to his girlfriend, Harry Potter fan Trechsel Hall. With limited options thanks to being stationed abroad, he browsed the internet for ideas.
After throwing around a few options, like some kind of flash mob or something cool like you see on YouTube, Palma came across a post on Bored Panda about an engagement ring box in the form of a golden snitch. He reached out and commissioned its maker, Zealand-based jeweler Asher Freeman, to create a custom version to use in his proposal.
It came with a mini Nimbus 2000 charm key to unlock it.
Palma told HuffPost he learned about Halls affinity for Harry Potter at the beginning of their relationship, and she forced him to read the books while he was deployed.
Those books definitely helped pass time during boring duty hours, he said.
He and Freeman worked through the process of creating the snitch box together from start to finish, down to its magical opening detail.
It was his idea to be able to lock the snitch with a mini Nimbus 2000 broomstick charm, Palma said. The guy is smart.
Palma gave Hall the snitch at the beginning of a trip to Japan. She couldnt figure out how to open it, he told HuffPost.
She said yes.

Asher Freeman was contacted by a customer who wanted to make that special moment an extra special surprise by gifting a very different engagement box.
The 31-year-old from Auckland, New Zealand who creates bespoke jewellery was commissioned to create a piece of Harry Potter inspired art.
Last year, a Harry Potter fan and customer of Ashers came to him in hopes of making his proposal all the more special and thus, the Golden Snitch was commissioned.
While, all his creations must be stunning, his incredible Golden Snitch engagement ring box ticks all the right boxes!
The ring box features the original Golden Snitch design, replete with golden wings and all and opens up to reveal the engagement ring.
Though Asher cant say for sure as to exactly how long the ring box took him to create, he said he spent many an hour pondering on the best way to do it before even starting.
Asher, whos an avid Harry Potter fan, and admits hes in House Slytherin with his Patronus being the fearsome Chow Dog, says he has many plans for future Harry Potter-themed Jewellery.
