Are Harry And Draco Related

Don't Miss

That Infamous Deathly Hallows Moment Wasnt Planned

Harry and Draco Meets Dudley and His Family // Drarry // READ DESC.

Chances are you know exactly what that means but well set the scene up for you anyway.

Toward the end of Deathly Hallows Part 2, Voldemort returns the grounds of Hogwarts to reveal to everyone that he killed Harry while Harry, unbeknownst to Voldemort, survived the attack. Having been separated prior, Dracos mom Narcissa called for Draco to come over to herand to the side of the Death Eaters. When he did, Voldemort gave him a very uncomfortable but highly memorable hug.

A couple months after Part 2s release, Felton addressed the hug at DragonCon. According to his recollection, he and Ralph Fiennes filmed around 25 takes of that scene. Out of all of those takes, only one included the hug it was a one-off thing Fiennes did. And as strange as he found the moment, he was even more surprised that it made the cut.

Its really interesting because theres definitely a difference with the audience, how they take it. In England, its considered a very chilling moment, a very sort of, the whole audience goes quiet and they dont know what to say or do. Over here , its hilarious.

Antioch Cadmus And Ignotus Peverell

The Peverell family is first mentioned in Half-Blood Prince as ancestors of , the maternal grandfather of Voldemort. In the final book of the series, they are revealed to be the original owners of the , which, according to , they received from Death, although Dumbledore believed it is more likely that they created them themselves. The Peverell lineage continues through its living descendants, including Harry and his children.

After Hermione saw the symbol of the Deathly Hallows on Ignotus Peverell’s grave in Godric’s Hollow, Harry recalled Marvolo Gaunt boasting that his ring held the Peverell on it, thus realising that the three brothers were the Peverells. Harry deduces that he is descended from Ignotus, as the cloak is passed down through his family. Furthermore, Rowling has confirmed that Harry and Voldemort are indeed distant relatives because of their relation to the Peverells, as the majority of wizard families share common ancestry.

Antioch Peverell was the eldest of the three Peverell brothers, and owner of the . He was killed in his sleep after bragging about the wand’s invincibility, having won a duel with it. The murderer then stole the Elder Wand, thus initiating its bloody history.

Narcissa Isnt Fond Of Bellatrix

Siblings arent exactly guaranteed to like each other which is more or less the case between Narcissa and Bellatrix. Although the two work together rather frequently in the later books, there is a clear animosity between them, especially on Narcissas end. Narcissa simply does not have the patience for her sisters antics and demeanor, keeping a deliberate divide between each other.

Every scene they have together has a strange air of tension as if they are putting on airs just to tolerate each other. This is to say nothing of the fact that Narcissa actively reprimands Bellatrix. Interestingly, it seems as though Bellatrix does love her sister quite a bit, allowing Narcissa to talk back to her with no real reproach.

Lucius Life Is An Actual Nightmare

Although Lucius begins the series at the top of the totem pole, so to speak, later books only serve to break him down. By the final book in the series, Lucius life has turned into a literal nightmare that he cannot wake up from. His son is being held hostage, Voldemort is using his home as a base of operations, and hes been stripped of his wand.

Lucius is unquestionably a villain over the course of the series, but he suffers for it far more than most antagonists. The last few books outright torture Lucius to the point of no return. When he betrays Voldemort, it does make sense to some extent: he cant take it anymore. In that sense, his betrayal is almost forgivable. Almost.

The Malfoys Slippery Family History Goes Back Generations

Did Harry and Draco have feelings for each other?

It didnt take long for Harry to notice the extent of the Malfoy familys influence and how Draco were able to weasel their way out of almost any situation. Draco often walked around Hogwarts like he owned the placeand in a way, he thought he did. His family was one of the richest in the country and had resided in England since the time of William the Conqueror.

The Malfoys long had a hand in power, but they never held office themselves, preferring to spin their influence behind the scenes. However, they still left their mark on magical and Muggle history, particularly one Malfoy, whose torture of some Muggle tenants resembled the Black Death.

While Dracos reach never really went beyond the walls of Hogwarts, his father Lucius had the ear of Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic for the first five Harry Potter books. Lucius famously managed to avoid Azkaban twice: he claimed he was under control of the Imperius Curse after Voldemort fell the first time, and he provided the Ministry of Magic evidence to help capture Death Eaters who were hiding after Voldemorts death.

Draco Got Harry Temporarily Suspended From Quidditch

In Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, Harry is unable to play quidditch for the Gryffindor team, on account of a long-term suspension. However, this suspension is partially instigated by Draco in the books.

In that version of the story, and in what is definitely on-brand for Draco, he mocks the death of Harrys parents, as well as insults the Weasley twins after the Gryffindor team loses to Slytherin. The resulting scuffle sees the suspension of both Harry and the Weasley twins, furthering the vitriol between Harry and Draco.

Draco Lives In His Fathers Shadow

Although he may appear as one at the start of the series, Draco is far from your superficial bully. Every instance of him antagonizing Harry stems directly from a desire to please his father. Note just how unpleasantly Draco acts when he isnt around Lucius. His mockeries lobbed at Harry even get toned down after Lucius berates him for acting beneath his status as a Malfoy.

At the same time, living in Lucius shadow is exactly what forces Draco to want to become a Death Eater. Voldemort even uses this to his advantage by using Draco as the key piece in his plan to slay Dumbledore. Draco, like his father, allows himself to spiral for no real reason so long as it maintains his status.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire

After Harry is unexpectedly chosen as a Triwizard Tournament champion in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Draco shows off a “Support Cedric Diggory” badge to Harry, then presses it to replace that phrase with “Potter Stinks.” Draco also gives malicious and often false information about Harry and Hagrid to muckrakingDaily Prophet journalist Rita Skeeter. When Draco attempts to curse Harry behind his back, the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor Alastor Moody humiliates Draco by transforming him into a ferret and repeatedly slamming him against the ground as well as dropping him down Goyle’s pants.

Severus Snape Isnt The Only Character With A Theorized Supernatural Alter

Is Harry Potter related to Draco Malfoy?

The theory that Severus Snape was secretly a vampire circled among Harry Potter fans for years before Rowling debunked it in 2014. But vampires, unlike the supernatural creature Draco has become associated with, never played much of a part in the series.

Some fans believed that Draco didnt become a Death Eater prior to Half-Blood Prince but was instead turned into a werewolf by Fenrir Greybackthe same werewolf that bit Remus Lupin as a young boy. According to the theory, Draco was bitten as punishment for Lucius Malfoy failing to obtain the prophecy about Harry and Voldemort at the Department of Mysteries in Order of the Phoenix.

With this, Dracos arc throughout Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows could be seen through a much different light. Dracos visibly sickly appearance is because of his lycanthropy, not due to the amount of stress hes under to complete the nearly impossible task of murdering Dumbledore. He didnt show Knockturn Alley shop owner Borgin the Dark Markas Harry suspectedbut rather his werewolf bite. It wouldve fit into the larger Malfoy family narrative that, when it came down to it, they would choose blood over loyalty to Voldemort.

Unfortunately for fans, Rowling debunked this one too.

Narcissa Was Never A Death Eater

Given the Malfoys role in the series, its natural to assume that all three are Death Eaters. After all, Lucius is blatantly introduced as a former Death Eater in Chamber of Secrets, immediately creating a sense of distrust between him and the reader. When Narcissa enters the picture, its simply safe to assume shes more of the same.

Bad enough to marry a Death Eater, but not to be one.

With that in mind, however, at no point in the books or the movies is it specified that Narcissa is an actual Death Eater. In fact, multiple times, its stated that she merely supports the cause vigorously. Shes rarely out in the open doing Death Eater duties, but she stands by her husband and his beliefs.

The Muggle Prime Minister

The , referred to as the Muggle Prime Minister by wizards, receives a visit from and in the opening chapter of . Using a series of flashbacks, Rowling describes how the Prime Minister is aware of the existence of the wizarding world, through several meetings with Fudge that include his first night as Prime Minister and other occasions during which Fudge informed him of ‘s escape from , of the incident in the World Cup, of importation of dragons and a sphinx for the Triwizard Tournament and finally of the mass break-out from Azkaban . Rowling intended to include the Prime Minister scene in earlier books, but she thought that it could not properly fit until the sixth book.

In the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the Prime Minister recalls his day, during which one of his political opponents had been criticising him and his government for several catastrophes that have recently happened in Britain. Readers discover a little later during the discussion with Fudge, that these catastrophes are, in fact, the doings of Voldemort and his followers. He also discovers that he is protected by an who now works in his office, .

Narcissa Is Lilys Antithesis

Given Dracos role as Harrys literary foil, its only natural there be a similar relationship between their mothers. While Lily and Narcissa never interact in the series proper, especially considering how the former isnt even alive, they play important literary roles. They are antitheses to one another, representing similar concepts from different sides.

Never doubt a mother’s love.

Specifically, both Lily and Narcissa embody the series overarching theme of maternal love. This is a story born out of a mother saving her son, and it ends with another mother saving her son. Everything came full circle thematically through Narcissa. She is driven by a love for her son and that is ultimately what saves Harry.

Tom Felton Confirms Harry Potter And Draco Malfoy Were Totally Gay

What about us II Draco and Harry

Hes coming for J.K. Rowlings gig.

The year is 2002. Its summer, but sleepaway camp hasnt started yet, which means Im up at 2am and probably wont go to sleep until at least 5. Evanescences Fallen is playing softly from my E-machine, the glow from which lit up the signed Broadway posters hanging in my dark adolescent bedroom. I had been reading Harry Potter fan fiction for at least six hours and would likely go for another six before finally falling asleep and waking up to do it all over again.

My preferred slash pairing was, of course, Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy. Fanfiction is constantly turning enemies into lovers, mining text and subtext for every possibly clue that two characters who seemingly hate each other are actually desperately in love. As a newly post-pubescent queer, nothing was more captivating to me than these two characters professing their love, and nothing was hotter than their illicit rendezvous in the Astronomy Tower or the Room of Requirement or even the bank of the lake while the giant squid watched kinky!

And clearly I wasnt alone.

In an interview with AOL, Malfoy actor Tom Felton was reunited with castmates Rupert Grint , Warwick Davis , Evanna Lynch , Oliver Phelps and James Phelps for a game of Fact or Fanfiction. During the game, Felton revealed that hes seen plenty of explicit Harry Potter content online centered on Draco and Hermione . Ive seen some pictures, he explained. Some alarming ones.

Book Narcissa Is More Emotional Than Movie Narcissa

Changes are bound to happen in any adaptation and Harry Potter is no exception. There are only so many details any given movie in the series can bring to screen without further elongating the already massive run times. Sometimes, however, changes arent made for padding reasons. They just simply happen.

One such change revolves around Narcissas characterization. In the books, Narcissa is incredibly emotional up until the end, imploring Snape to make an Unbreakable Vow to protect Draco. In the movies, this is cut in favor of Bellatrix having Snape commit said vow with Narcissa not nearly emotional enough to look out for Draco.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Draco is named a Slytherin prefect along with Pansy Parkinson. He gets Harry and the Weasley twins banned from the Gryffindor Quidditch team when they attack him during a postmatch brawl after Draco insults their families following Gryffindor’s win over Slytherin. He later joins Dolores Umbridge‘s Inquisitorial Squad, with whom he plays an important part in the exposure of Dumbledore’s Army. As the D.A. flees the Room of Requirement, Draco earns Slytherin fifty points after catching Harry, and helps hold several members captive in Umbridge’s office, letting them free only after Ginny Weasley performs her famous Bat Bogey Hex. After his father and other Death Eaters are captured and sentenced to Azkaban following the events at the Department of Mysteries, Draco twice attempts to get revenge on Harry, but Snape and Minerva McGonagall thwart his first effort, and while returning home on the Hogwarts Express, Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle are transformed into giant slugs by a barrage of hexes cast by several D.A. members coming to Harry’s defence.

Draco Challenges Harry To A Duel And Never Shows Up

Wizard Duel: Draco Malfoy vs Harry Potter | Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Draco and Harry constantly butted heads throughout both the film and book versions of Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone. Draco And Harrys Train Encounter Ends Differently

During the events of Harry Potter And The Half-blood Prince, Harry tries to eavesdrop on Draco and his fellow Slytherins with the aid of his invisibility cloak. However, Draco turns the tables on Harry and discovers him, managing to stun him before breaking his nose. This scene deftly shows the darker tone Draco and Harrys relationship takes in this installment of the saga. In the film, Harry is found by Luna Lovegood, before the two rejoin the rest of Hogwarts student body.

However in the book, he is instead found by Nymphadora Tonks, an Auror and Remus Lupins partner. While the encounter between Harry and Draco is essentially the same, its aftermath allows both versions of the story to explore Harrys connection with two very different characters.

Magical Abilities And Skills

During the series, Draco is portrayed as a cunning, competent young wizard. In his second year, he successfully performed the Tarantallegra curse against Harry, a curse used by Death Eater Antonin Dolohov in book 5, and also successfully cast the Serpensortia spell in the same scene, conjuring a serpent from his wand just as Voldemort would later do against Dumbledore in book 5, and Snape against McGonagall in the final book. His character further develops in the sixth book, in which he is among very few students able to reach the required level to take Advanced Potions. Draco also proved capable at Occlumency, which he learned from his Aunt Bellatrix. Rowling recalled a discussion with her editor about Draco having mastered Occlumency while Harry could not. The author said that this is due to Draco being someone “very capable of compartmentalising his life and his emotions”. Draco’s wand is 10 inches precisely, made of hawthorn with a unicorn hair core, and which Ollivander states is “reasonably springy”.

When asked what shape Draco’s Patronus Charm is, Rowling replied that, at least by the end of the sixth book, Draco was not capable of producing a Patronus, as it is not magic routinely taught at Hogwarts.
