Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is one of the best rides Islands of Adventure has to offer. In fact, its easily in my top 5 theme park rides of all time. Its so unique you cant miss it!
If youve had dreams of getting your letter to Hogwarts, wait no more! The queue for this ride takes you through the dungeons , castle gardens and into the castle itself where youll visit Dumbledore in his office, Harry, Ron, and Hermoine in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the lady in the portrait that guards the Gryffindor common room, and even the Sorting Hat. As you board the ride vehicles, look up to see the display of floating candles.
On the ride, your journey will include physical elements as well as on-screen visuals that make you feel like youre right there in the action . The technical wizardry brings the movie wizardry to life!
This ride is perfect if: You love Harry Potter or really high-tech, story driven experiences. But seriously, you have to ride it!

This is a must-ride for Harry Potter fans, but be warned that you can ONLY ride the Hogwarts Express if you have a park-to-park pass. It will take you from Islands of Adventure to Universal Studios , so you have to have a pass that allows you entrance into both parks.

If you are traveling with small children you will want to spend more time in Seuss Landing. There is a play area called If I Ran the Zoo to explore as well as a Carrousel and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish attractions.
There is also a Jurassic Park playground that is fantastic and an indoor Jurassic theme area.
In the Toon Lagoon area there is a spray area as well as the Me Ship, The Olive to explore. This is located near the Popeye & Bluto attraction. It has climbing structures and slides.

Dining At Islands Of Adventure
After riding the most popular rides in the morning we are ready for lunch. You can check out our favorite in this article, best restaurants at Universal Orlando, but we often pick our restaurant based on our location in the park.
One of my favorite places to eat is Green, Eggs, and Ham in Seuss Landing. Often our family will order a few things from Green, Eggs, and Ham and Circus McGurkus, then dine inside Circus McGurkus together.
We also like Three Broomsticks at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Hogsmeade for an immersive Harry Potter experience. Expect long lines for this during meal times. We line up around 10:30 when it opens at 11:00am.
On our most recent visit we dined at Thunder Falls Terrace in the Jurassic Park area and really enjoyed it!

Where To Buy The Must
You already know theres plenty of places to purchase wands, robes, sweets, and souvenirs in the Wizarding World, but if you want to be extra prepared you can purchase many of these items on Universals website before you even arrive at the Harry Potter theme parks.
You can also get them in your hotel, at the large souvenir stores at the entrance to both Universals Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida, or at the Universal Studios Store at CityWalk. The biggest benefit to buying your merch outside of the park areas is that youll have more time to experience the rides and appreciate the attention to detail that went into making the areas feel like Harry Potters world. Window shopping and browsing is more fun than standing in line, anyway.
