International Box Office: Grindelwald Has Quarter Billion Dollar Global Debut
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald started its international run with $191.5 million on 50,865 screens in 79 markets for a worldwide debut of $253.7 million. Its largest opening was in China, but it had to settle for second place there with $36.68 million on 22,008 screens over the weekend for a total opening of $37.53 million. It had more impressive debuts in the U.K. and in Russia . The film had the best opening in the Harry Potter franchise in 21 markets, but overall, it was only 3% ahead of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in the same markets. Its much weaker reviews will likely lead to shorter legs, but even so, it should still have no problem getting to $600 million worldwide and becoming Warner Bros. biggest hit of the year. How To Watch Harry Potter Movies Online
Since September 1, all eight of the Harry Potter movies are available to stream on HBO Max in the US which is hardly surprising, seeing as the Warner Bros-owned streaming platform will consider the hit franchise as an excellent way to attract new subscribers. The movies were previously available via the Peacock service, though, and you can also rent or buy the series on services like Amazon.
In the UK, you can’t currently stream the Harry Potter movies, but you can rent or buy them on Amazon, iTunes and more. HBO Max is expected to launch on British shores soon, but we’re unsure when that’ll be The complete Harry Potter series is also available on Blu-Ray.
Meanwhile, the two Fantastic Beasts movies aren’t currently streaming in the US or the UK.
Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets
Released one year after Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Chris Columbus finished up his two-film run with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Columbus had previously worked well with children as a director on films like Home Alone and a writer on Goonies. He was perfect to launch the franchise.
This second movie continued Harry’s learning and discovery of magic. It also showed what dangers he faced in the future as the past of Lord Voldemort, the main antagonist of future movies, was dealt with here. The film made $879 million and was the second highest-grossing film of 2002.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Pt 2
The last movie adapts the other half of the last book. It deals with the end of the story, while the protagonists have everything figured out but the stakes are higher than ever.
The last stand takes place at Hogwarts grounds and involves a few characters switching sides at the last moment and one revealing their true allegiance was to the protagonist all along.
Harry realizes what the last Horcruxs is and now has the possibility to destroy Voldemort forever but at what cost.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was the movie that showed that death was possible in the one-time children’s movie series. In this film, Harry took part in a tri-wizarding tournament that saw him battle in a series of tests to determine the school with the best young wizard.
However, that was just to move the plot along as the true importance of this movie, directed by Mike Newell, was to bring Lord Voldemort back from the dead, setting up the main villain for the rest of the series. Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame was a Hogwarts student in this movie, killed in cold blood by the Death Eaters, and Voldemort declared war on all wizards by the end of this film.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald
The final movie so far in the Harry Potter world hit theaters in 2018. This was the second movie in the Fantastic Beasts series. While Newt Scamander was still the main protagonist, there was a lot here to set up a battle mentioned in the original Harry Potter movies between Albus Dumbledore and his greatest rival, Gellert Grindelwald.

The Harry Potter Extended Versions have the deleted scenes, found on the home movie releases, cut back into the film. The Ultimate Edition releases of Sorcerers Stone and Chamber of Secrets in 2009 included the extended versions of each film. They are the only extended editions released on DVD and Blu-ray.

J.K.Rowling has published a drama called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which takes place in the future with the main characters being children of the original franchises main characters, namely Harrys and Dracos sons.
However, another movie covering the original book series most likely wont happen since the original cast has spoken up on a few occasions that despite their love for the franchise they cannot deny that it has affected their career and made it difficult to break out of the Harry Potter roles.

As expected, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them easily earned first place onFriday. However, it only managed $29.7 million, which was well below expectations. This is the worst opening day in the Harry Potter franchise since The Chamber of Secrets. The reviews are weaker than the franchise as a whole, but its CinemaScore is an A and thats roughly average for the previous 8 Harry Potter films. The film should still earn between $70 million and $75 million over the weekend, depending on if the high CinemaScore can overcome the Fanboy Effect. Its a good week for Pick of the Week contenders, as there are seven such releases on this weeks list. Unfortunately, none of them really scream out as The Pick of the Week. Jurassic World completed the trifecta over the weekend. Not only did the film have the largest domestic debut, it broke the same record internationally and worldwide. The film pulled in $315.61 million on 19,612 screens in 66 markets for a worldwide opening weekend of $524.42 million. It broke the previous international and worldwide records that were held by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II. It is also the first film to open with more than $500 million worldwide and it is just a matter of when, not if, it will top $1 billion globally.
