Draco Malfoy And Harry Potter
There are few relationship tropes as popular as the enemies to friends storyline, and Harry and Malfoy certainly fit the bill from the very beginning. Draco even tries to be Harry’s friend as soon as he meets him outside the great hall at Hogwarts.
He doesn’t go about it the right way, but it’s clear Malfoy was searching for a relationship with Harry from the beginning. While Draco eventually came over from the dark side in the novels, he and Harry could have had a lot more time together, and a much more profound storyline if they had been allowed to pursue one another romantically.
Relationships With Other Characters
She seems to have been good friends with Lily as the latter said that she cried all night after Marlene was killed by Death Eaters. It’s possible that they knew each other from their Hogwarts years.
Perhaps because it was apparently a letter from Sirius that mentioned Marlene’s death, fans seem to believe she was in a relationship with Sirius, and have created fiction of their own centered about this relationship. The practice of creating or assuming relationships, particularly those unsupported or flat-out denied by the actual story arc, is known as “shipping”.
What House Is Umbridge In
She was sorted into Slytherin House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and despised her time at the school due to never being given any positions of power. After her time at Hogwarts, Umbridge rose to prominent and influential positions in the Ministry of Magic in the Improper Use of Magic Office.

George Weasley And Lee Jordan
Lee Jordan is the third wheel in his friendship with the Weasley twins. Except for their time on the quidditch pitch, Lee is always with the red-headed duo. While Fred makes it very obvious he’s into Angelina Johnson, asking her to the Yule Ball before George asks anyone, it’s very possible that George could have been more interested in Lee than any of the other witches he played quidditch with.
The pair spent so much time together, had so much in common, and it might have explained why George was the less outgoing of the Weasley twins.
After The Life And Times
It is believed by many that Mary will end up marrying Reginald Cattermole, and become Mary Cattermole, who we meet briefly in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” when Ron use polyjuice potion to turn into Reginald, so that the trio can get access to the Ministry of Magic. Another theory is that Regulus and Mary eloped before the young black’s passing.

Luna Lovegood And Ginny Weasley
Luna Lovegood’s outsider nature always made her appealing to an LGBTQ+ audience. Even though Ginny is shown with a number of romantic partners throughout the Harry Potter series, she spends more time with Luna than most of her boyfriends.
In the fandom, it is thought that Ginny Weasley could have very easily been a bi character, and a romantic relationship with Luna would have been great to see on-page as well as on-screen.
Did Sirius Black Get Married
Black did not get married or have children. As the portrait of Phineas Nigellus, Black’s deceased great-great-grandfather, stated, the direct line of the ancient Black family ended with Sirius’ death. Had Regulus Black lived, he would have been the heir of the Black home however, he predeceased Sirius.

The Mckinnons The Bones The Prewetts
We heard more about these Order members from Alastor Moody in Order of the Phoenix. Marlene McKinnon and Edgar Bones were killed along with their families on Voldemorts orders and the brothers Gideon and Fabian Prewett died like heroes after being taken down by no less than five Death Eaters.
Though these characters were dead long before the events of Philosophers Stone, we did get to meet some of their relatives in this book. Susan Bones joined Hufflepuff during Harrys Sorting and we saw one of the Prewetts showing her children on to platform nine and three-quarters. Most of us didnt realise this, because Molly’s married name was Weasley.
Parvati Patil And Lavender Brown
Like Dean and Seamus in the boys’ dormitory, Parvati and Lavender are always seen in one another’s company throughout the Harry Potter books.
Parvati spends more time with Lavender than she does with her own twin sister, Padma. It doesn’t take a great stretch of the imagination to see the pair as a loving and devoted couple within the walls of Hogwarts and beyond it.

Magical Abilities And Skills
- Magical aptitude: To be a member of the Order of the Phoenix, it is highly likely that Marlene was a talented witch who most likely used her magical ability in a number of battles against the Death Eaters before her untimely death. Hagrid referred to her and her family as among the best witches and wizards of their time.
Dean Thomas And Seamus Finnigan
Harry and Ron may be the most explored “best friend” relationship in the Harry Potter series, but an even closer friendship exists on the periphery of the story. Dean and Seamus, unlike Ron and Harry, don’t have another member of their group.
While Ron and Harry are always with Hermione, Dean and Seamus are always together, just the two of them. It’s clear they care about each other more than anyone else at Hogwarts. It would have been great to see their relationship flourish as LGBTQ representation on the page.

Remus Lupin And Sirius Black
Known often as “wolfstar” within the fandom, Lupin and Sirius are often the couple most fans wish were confirmed as LGBTQ+ in canon. The fact that J.K. Rowling confirmed that Lupin’s lycanthropy is a metaphor for AIDS, only adds to the reading so many fans have embraced.
The best friends could very easily have been confirmed as a couple within the pages of the Harry Potter series. Even Lupin’s marriage doesn’t take place until after Sirius is dead.
Albus Potter And Scorpius Malfoy
Albus Potter, the younger son of Harry Potter, is the main character in the spin-off theater production, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
While Draco and Harry have often been embraced in fanfiction as a gay couple, Albus and Scorpius act much more like a couple on the stage than their father’s ever did. The pair only have one another. They share their past, their feelings, and constant embraces to show how they care about one another.

Queer Characters In The Harry Potter Universe
We all remember the iconic moment when J.K. Rowling stunned crowds at Carnegie Hall in 2007 by admitting that shed always perceived Albus Dumbledore, the wisest and most powerful man in the wizarding world, as gay. In the proceeding months, J.K. sustained hefty criticism from far-right, religious leaning people. They claimed her admission of Dumbledores sexuality was an attempt to indoctrinate children with the gay agenda by normalizing a sinful and disordered disposition. It was simply too liberal. Now, nearly 11 years later, J.K. is under fire once again except this time its for not being liberal enough.
A few weeks ago, David Yates, director of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald, revealed that Dumbledores sexuality would not be explicitly explored in the upcoming film. Many fans viewed this as blatant queer erasure and were rightfully infuriated by the avoidance of their love story. .
However, in an attempt to reverse this most recent erasure, I am drawing attention to five possible queer characters that already exist in the Harry Potter universe!

Mcgonagall And Another Character
While post Potter publication, J.K. Rowling did offer a full backstory for transfiguration professor, Minerva McGonagall, the books didn’t make her romantic leanings very clear. Many fans, early on, thought perhaps McGonagall and Dumbledore had been a couple at one point.
Yet, once it was revealed at Radio City Music Hall, that Dumbledore was in fact gay, it made more sense that perhaps McGonagall was gay as well. As underrepresented minorities in the Wizarding World the friendship between Dumbledore and McGonagall made even more sense.
Beauxbatons Academy Of Magic
Year 1- Year 5
Adelena adored the carriage ride to the school at the beginning of every school year. She would often pet the horses after her ride.
Adelena was able to master the bird-conjuring charm verbal and nonverbal, also known as the avis charm prior to the end of fifth year. This is a NEWT level charm taught in Hogwarts sixth year transfiguration class. Transfiguration was always one of Adelena’s favorite subjects in school.
During her return home from her fifth year, her mother annouces that her father has left the family for a younger women twice his age. Therefore Adelena will be moving to England to stay with Aunt Fluer, Uncle Bill and her cousins Dominique and Louis.
Summer before 6th year
After the party Mavis suggested that all the girls take over the Family tree house for a sleep over. Adelena began to truely feel like England could be her home that night. She really enjoyed getting to know the other girls that night and learned that Mavis’ father was a teacher at Hogwarts like Victories’ husband, Teddy Lupin. Mavis even shared embarrassing stories about how it was both cool and awkward having your dad at the school.
The night before the first day of school, Adelena was sad to leave behind her school robes made from fine silk, trading them for the Hogwarts skirt and blouse attire. This greatly upsets her as she packs her new trunk for her new school year.

Tonks And Another Character
Tonks, as soon as she appeared on the page in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, was noted by many in the fandom as a possible queer character within the series.
Any person can be a part of the LGBTQ+ community no matter their looks or the activities they enjoy, but Tonks’ fashion choices and outsider status made her a character of great interest in the fandom. Her metamorphmagus abilities also made her a particular favorite of transgender fans as well.
