Which Harry Potter Is The Best

Don't Miss

‘harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows’ Part 1

Which ‘Harry Potter’ Film Is The Best? | THE GREAT DEBATE

By the time the films get to the Deathly Hallows double bill, things are really picking up, action-wise. However, the first installment of J.K Rowling’s final book seems to simply be setting the scene for the final showdown, and let’s face it, there is a lot of setting up to be done.

The first half of the movie is fairly pacey and it is nice to see Ron, Hermionie, and Harry in the muggle world for a change, but soon they are flitting from one location to another trying to track down the Horcruxes, and we’re still not ready to talk about THAT beach scene with Dobby.

While it’s hard to judge a film as a standalone movie when it is only one half of a book is hard, it had to be said that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint are outstanding in this film, standing out from the crowd as they make a move away from the rest of the cast and carry the film along.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone

The first of the canonical game series is the basis on which many great fandom memes have been coined, largely due to its kitschy graphics, and admittedly its execution left a lot to be desired.

Nonetheless, this title marked the first time players got to role-play in experiencing Hogwarts for themselves during the game’s multi-platform launch in 2001. Perhaps more importantly it served as a flagship, charting a course for the iconic series of movie-based games that were to follow.

Lego Harry Potter Years 1

This 2010 multi-platform action-adventure game includes two great franchises, Harry Potter and Lego. The games narrative covers the first 4 books in the series, from The Sorcerers Stone up through The Goblet of Fire. The best part: it features the entire wizarding world from Harry’s first four years at Hogwarts and all of your favorite characters as Lego figures.

As with all Lego video games, Lego Harry Potter focuses on collecting, exploring, and puzzle-solving. The nature of the game fits the storyline of the novels seamlessly. You can cast spells, make potions, and help fellow Hogwarts students out of sticky situations.

Everything about this game flows smoothly, and the attention to detail is amazing. There are some nice little touches, such as using Diagon Alley as a hub for gameplay. The game has some extremely comical moments as well, such as Hagrid nursing a Unicorn back to health with bed rest and a thermometer or running over Ron in a magical pumpkin. Overall, it’s a perfect combination of wizarding nostalgia, witty references, and silly LEGO humor.

Book : Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

World Book Day: Harry Potter best movie adaptation ever, claims survey ...

Something of a controversial choice for this high on the list I would argue, however, that the Order of the Phoenix deserves the bronze medal for best Harry Potter book. It is by far the darkest book, with Harry dealing with some very not child-book aimed demons.

Although it is the longest book in terms of pages, its isnt brimming with action, instead focusing more of its time on developing the characters into grown, individually minded young people.

It also has one of the most epic moments out of all the books that being the duel between Voldemort and Dumbledore. Its really the only time we ever see a high level, top tier Wizard duel in the entire series, so thats pretty cool. We couldve probably done without Harrys highly awkward relationship with Cho, but who hasnt had a cringeworthy relationship or two?

Book : Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

Secrets is probably the least important book in the series over all. Its still a good book, but it suffers from a somewhat bland plot, as well as a large section of the book without Hermione. And we all know things just arent the same when Hermione isnt around.

Also, apparently Secrets went through a relatively complex editing process, and Rowling herself struggled to write it, especially after the success of the first book. However, despite the lackluster bits, some moments do stand out. In fact, an essential aspect of the plot is introduced in this book, though we didnt know it yet. Horcruxes dont come into the picture in name until the sixth book, but in Secrets we experience one for the first time.

Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince

Heres where director David Yates really started to use his deluminator. Just like the books, The Half Blood Prince was when Potter got darker than ever. Muggle murders as Death Eaters swarm the Millennium Bridge in London, a Death Eater attack on the Weasley home, a history of the young Tom Riddle and, yes, the horrific and tragic death of Dumbledore. *sob* How could Rowling do it to us? While Hogwarts is still reasonably safe, the peril that lies outside the gates is palpable.

Theres an enjoyably grown up theme here too. Teen hormones are everywhere – it seems to make sense to get with everyone in sight if youre about to be murdered by dark wizards – and the will they/wont they Harry/Ginny relationship is enjoyably handled amidst the madness. The Half Blood Prince also adds the brilliant Jim Broadbent to the cast as Professor Horace Slughorn, a pompous but good-hearted soul who once gave a young Voldemort some seriously risky information. As Harry and Dumbledore work together to find the various Horcruxes of Voldemorts soul, theres a truly thrilling narrative at work thats deftly handled by Yates. Its dark, its scary, and it knows it.

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone

While it may not be as flashy, refined, or impressive as the rest of the films in the franchise, Sorcerers Stone deserves immense credit for setting up this series so wonderfully, and laying a fantastic foundation off of which the other films could be built. Director Chris Columbus was not only responsible for putting together the incredible cast, but he also captured Rowlings wizarding world on film in a manner that felt relatable and wholly transfixing. Sorcerers Stone is told through the eyes of an 11-year-old, and so the film was always going to skew a bit younger than subsequent installments, but Columbus refuses to talk down to his audience and wisely sidesteps delving into cartoony kids movie land.

And even though its tonally the lightest film of the bunch, Sorcerers Stone still works wonderfully as a fantastic entry in the Potter franchise. The winning combination of charm and smarts permeates throughout, and Columbus nails the founding friendship of our three heroes, culminating in a grand finale that lets each one of them shine. Who can resist adorable Ron Weasley commanding a giant chess set with gusto as he sits atop a stone knight?

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows

Which Harry Potter House is the Best?! | BOOK BISCUIT

This is the finale to the series and it certainly lived up to the exceptions. It wrapped up the series is a very satisfying way, showcasing the entire cast of characters in a variety of ways, even in small cameos. Its not without its flaws, with the epilogue being controversial and the middle of the book dragging considerably as the trio travels through the wilderness, but the rest of the book, especially the final battle at Hogwarts, was everything we ever wanted and more.

Its the finale we all wanted and minor flaws dont detract for what an incredible experience it was.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2

Deathly Hallows, Part 2 is all action. As soon as the movie begins, Harry, Ron and Hermione are breaking into Gringotts, riding on the back of a dragon and, finally, battling Voldemort. Thats not always a good thing: The audience is barely given a moment to breathe and consider the consequences of this final battle. Book readers will certainly miss some of the quieter moments of reflection, particularly between Harry and Dumbledore at Kings Cross Station after Harry dies.

But the film is able to pull off several crucial moments of character development amid the chaos, including Nevilles evolution into a bold hero, Ron and Hermiones first kiss and Molly Weasleys epic defeat of Bellatrix LeStrange. To that end, the film plays like a somber but satisfying reunion. Deathly Hallows Part 1, and even to some extent Half-Blood Prince, are films about loneliness and isolation. Some of the most beloved characters in the Harry Potter series are missing entirely from those movies. When Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts, we get to enjoy Rowlings wide array of Dickensian characters once again.

Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone 81%

Rewatching Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, its astonishing to realize how much they got right from the very beginning. I mean, casting this one couldnt have been easy. For the three leads, they needed not only talented child actors, but talented child actors who could commit to a further seven films, literally growing into their roles on a very-nearly yearly basis. Luckily, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were up to the task, serving as our guides in this utterly charming introduction to Hogwarts. Between the sumptuous design, the sweeping score and the assured adaptation of J.K. Rowlings source material, its hard to imagine a more solid foundation on which to build the series. More so than any of the films that followed, The Philosophers Stone succeeds in making magic look fun. From the visit to Ollivanders , to the Sorting Hat, to the first broomstick ride, Harrys initiation into the wizarding world is also our initiation, and we share in his sense of wonder at all of these incredible experiences, brought to life so beautifully on the big screen.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite was an augmented reality mobile game from Niantic, the creators of Pokemon Go. The premise being Foundables have begun to appear in the Muggle world.

Many mechanics were implemented to immerse players in the role of a special agent in the new Ministry of Magic Secrecy Task Force, where you’re tasked with finding the missing items and culling the threats of exposing the wizarding world. The AR title immersed players further by allowing them to establish their personal identity as a witch or wizard and learn the ropes before setting out to defend the secrecy of the wizarding world. The game shows traces of magic to follow in order to locate Foundables.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 96%

By the time Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 premiered in the summer of 2011, the franchise was already an indelible part of the zeitgeist. Ten years after the first film premiered, Deathly Hallows Part 2 finally brought the story of The Boy Who Lived to an action-packed and bittersweet ending.

The film pulled no punches, delivering the thrills and wonder that fans expect from the sagas last entry. However, it also rewarded its loyal audience with an emotional and powerful ending that wore its heart on its sleeve. Everything about the film lived up to fans sky-high expectations, and by the time Harry, Ron, and Hermione held hands after the Battle of Hogwarts, there wasnt a dry eye in the house. So what if the saga ended with a happily ever after? After 10 years, eight movies, and countless deaths, Harry and company earned themselves a break.

‘harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban’

And the winner is… Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. In our opinion by far the best film of the series. Not only does the third installment of the franchise bring us Sirius Black, but Harry also blows up Aunt Marge, and then there is, of course, the amazing Knight Bus scene which we could just watch over and over, even if Dre Head can’t count backward properly.

Gary Oldman and David Thewlis are bewitching as Lupin and Sirius, and Harry finally gets to meet someone as close to family as he is ever going to get. From start to finish the plot is strong and logical, leading to the film becoming a firm fan favorite over the years.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Its tough to judge a film that is self-admittedly half a story, but since its presented as a separate entry into the Harry Potter series, Deathly Hallows Part 1 must be evaluated as such. Book readers had their issues with the walkabout nature of the first half of the final book, so many were bracing for a somewhat sluggish film adaptation of those initial chapters. And while Deathly Hallows Part 1 is mighty compelling for the first hour or so , it definitely loses steam in its second half. This is due in part to the fact that Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on a directionless hunt, disapparating from one gorgeous locale to the next as they bicker amongst themselves. This character conflict is necessary to set up the emotional payoff of Deathly Hallows Part 2, but the act of watching a film that is almost all setup gets a bit monotonous.

And perhaps Deathly Hallows Part 1s biggest issue is just thatits a lot of setup for the finale without much room for payoff. Its a necessity, and director David Yates and screenwriter Steve Kloves handle it about as well as they could, but in one film they have to lay the foundation for all the wand business, move Ron and Hermione towards a point where they can express their romantic feelings for one another, introduce Dumbledores secretive backstory, explain the Deathly Hallows, and solidify the raised stakes leading up to the Battle of Hogwartsall without wrapping up a single one of these threads.
