Despite Being The Top Of Her Class Hermione Wasnt Good At Everything

Hermione is known for being a brilliant student who excels in almost everything she tries. She was even called an insufferable know-it-all by Professor Snape.

But there are a few things Hermione wasnt good at.

In Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, we learn that Hermione isnt particularly skilled at Wizard Chess. In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, we also see that Divination isnt her strongest subject. And throughout the series, the young witch never really got the hang of flying on a broomstick.

In 2000, after a seven-month search, lead actor Daniel Radcliffe was discovered by producer David Heyman and writer Steve Kloves seated just behind them in a theatre. In Heyman’s own words, “There sitting behind me was this boy with these big blue eyes. It was Dan Radcliffe. I remember my first impressions: He was curious and funny and so energetic. There was real generosity too, and sweetness. But at the same time he was really voracious and with hunger for knowledge of whatever kind.”

Radcliffe had already established himself as an actor in the 1999 BBC television production of David Copperfield in which he played the title role’s childhood years. Heyman persuaded Radcliffe’s parents to allow him to audition for the part of Harry Potter, which involved Radcliffe being filmed. Rowling was enthusiastic after viewing Radcliffe’s filmed test, saying she didn’t think there was a better choice for the part of Harry Potter.

Also in 2000, the then unknown British actors Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were selected from thousands of auditioning children to play the roles of Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively. Their only previous acting experience was in school plays. Grint was eleven years old and Watson ten at the time they were cast.

Harry Potter: When Are The Main Characters’ Birthdays

Though Harry Potter’s July 31st birthday is well-known, the birth dates of other main characters are known only to avid fans of the franchise.

While most of the fandom knows that Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling’s birthdays coincide and come about on July 31st, the author has also revealed the birthdays of much of the rest of her characters over the years.

While very few are mentioned in the books’ pages, and even less on screen, they do exist in the canon the author created. Below we move beyond the Boy Who Lived and the day he came to be to answer the birthday question for the main characters who surround him on his epic journey.

As one of the biggest pop culture phenomenons on the planet, Harry Potter is a massively populated franchise, with a plethora of characters who are important to the story of the Wizarding World and the boy who lived, from those who have a small role in every movie to those who have critical, prominent roles in only a couple. Even ignoring Harry’s famous July 31st birthday leaves many crucial characters out of a ten entry list. While there are a couple of unknown birthdays in terms of dates, there is certainly enough information in the vast lore to point out other key dates when beloved characters were born into the Harry Potter story.

What Was Happening When Harry Potter Was Born Then

1980 was a big year for the wizarding world, with Harry arriving mere hours after Neville Longbottom, who was born on 30th July.

Molly and Arthur Weasley welcomed a son by the name of Ron on 1st March he celebrates his 17th birthday on that date, under the influence of Romilda Vanes love potion, in Half Blood Prince.

And Hermione Granger celebrated her first birthday, having been welcomed into the muggle world on 19th September 1979.

Over at the Ministry of Magic, Millicent Bagnold took control, staying in power as Minister until 1990. Her real-life counterpart, Margaret Thatcher, made her Ladys not for turning speech that same year. We bet that proved for a lively first meeting with The Other Minister.

Hermione Fell In Love With Ron After He Used The Imperius Curse

This is a lot darker than some of the other theories on this list, but we just had to include it. Ron and Hermione relationship is rocky from the very beginning, and for some reason, they wind up falling in love. This theory talks about Ron using the Imperius Curse to control her, which is a spell he is proficient at using.

Lily J Potter & James Potter

Born to make HISTORY! ð

Harry Potters famous July 31st birthday came just over a year before the tragic murdering of his parents, Lily and James Potter, at the hands of Voldemort on Halloween night, 1981, both of whom died at the age of 21.

Both born in 1960, sharing a calendar year with the likes of the aforementioned Snape and Lupin, Lily was the older of the two, born at the end of January while James birthday helped usher in the springtime two months later.

Harry…. is becoming exceptionally good at Defence Against the Dark Arts. So that’s the one area in which, almost instinctively, he is particularly talented. Apart from Quidditch.
âJ. K. Rowling regarding Harry’s magical talents

Harry was seen and had proven himself to be an extremely powerful and talented wizard. His power was evident from the start: he demonstrated immediate command of a broomstick, was able to conjure a corporeal Patronus at an exceptionally young age , and even survived numerous encounters with Lord Voldemort. He mastered a wand made of hawthorn, which one should only ever consider placing in the hands of a witch or wizard of proven talent. Harry was also a very gifted flyer and Quidditch player, the youngest Seeker in a century.

Harry â he has an extraordinary instinct for the right thing to do. He’s just got the right instinct, and that’s what would make him, in due course, a phenomenal Auror.

The House Where Harry Potter Was Born Is Up For Sale

It’s the real life Godric’s Hollow…

The house that featured as the birthplace of a certain boy wizard in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows has been put up for sale and its set to go for almost £1 million.

The Grade I listed De Vere house, which is located in the Suffolk village of Lavenham, famously appeared in the final Harry Potter film as the place where the titular wizard was born.

Less fortunately, it was also the place where his parents fought in vain as they were killed by Lord Voldemort.

Now, its been placed up for sale with a starting price of £995,000 . A description of the home on estate agents Carter Jonas claims that it is steeped in history.

De Vere House is an outstanding Grade I listed property steeped in history and, more recently, made famous for its appearance in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the description states.

Even though Lavenham is synonymous with fine timber-framed houses, De Vere House stands out as one of the most prestigious with its beautiful façade and significant period features throughout.

The façade is jettied with exposed timbers, brick nogging , leaded mullions and ornate carved timbers. The front door of De Vere House is one of its most notable features and appears in numerous guide books and Treasures of Britain..

Meanwhile, J.K Rowling recently reclaimed her spot as the worlds richest author, after earning £95 million in the last year.
