The Elder Wand is a very ancient magic wand. Fifteen inches long, it is made of elder wood and has a core of a thestrals tail hair. They are both very difficult substances to work with, especially the one that forms the heart of the wand. The hair of a thestrals tail is a particular material that only mages capable of accepting death can control and among these only those who have seen death.
The Elder Wand, in addition to being the most powerful wand in existence, is also recognizable by how it was made. In particular, two elements are notable: the bumps that resemble clusters of elderberries that run along the entire length of the wand and the inlay of bone with engraved ancient runes on it.

For example, Harry was able to use the wand to repair his own.
The wand itself can also not perform the impossible, but it has a natural loophole that allows it to appear that it can by boosting already established spells. This is why Dumbledore is considered one of the most powerful wizards ever. That being said, when it comes to particularly dark magic, like the bite of a Basilisk and the effects of Marvolo Gaunt’s ring, the wand is useless. While it isn’t all-powerful, the Elder Wand is still a force to be reckoned with.

This wand has poplar wood which is very unique in its nature. It supports a master with righteous aims and helps to catalyze more powerful magic. How Did Harry Potter Become The Owner Of The Elder Wand
Albus Dumbledore defeated Gellert Grindlewald and became theowner of the Elder Wand.
Draco Malfoy disarmed Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and theHalf-Blood Prince which meant that Draco was recognised as the newowner of the wand. The only person who knew this was Dumbledore,who then died.

Harry and Dumbledore barely survived obtaining a fake Horcrux from an enchanted cave in Half-Blood Prince, but that didn’t stop Albus from telling Harry that he had to continue the search for the rest of Voldemort’s Horcruxes… without help from experienced adults.

He Was An Extremely Intelligent Student
Although the movies show Draco to be just an arrogant bully, in the books, we see another aspect of Draco we soon discover that he is an intelligent student, too. While Harry was always picked on in Potions due to Snapes hatred for him, Draco was always the teachers pet.

Dumbledore Didn’t Tell Harry He Was A Horcrux
Dumbledore figured out that when Voldemort cast a Killing Curse on baby Harry, he accidentally turned Harry into his final Horcrux. Instead of telling Harry this, Albus did everything he could to manipulate Harry into sacrificing his own life when the time came so the Dark Lord could finally be destroyed.

It Released The Elder Wand
The Elder Wand, another of the Deathly Hallows, was the most powerful wand in existence. Passed on through battle, Dumbledore had commanded it for over 50 years after his defeat of Grindelwald in 1945.

The events of Deathly Hallows suggest that this couldnt possibly be part of Dumbledores plan, since it eventually led to Snapes death as Voldermort sought control of the wand.
However, this proved to be a misdirection that kept that power from Voldermorts grasp even after he had retrieved the Elder Wand from Dumbledores grave. Voldemort hadnt realized that Draco had been able to disarm Dumbledore. Harry Potter later took control of the Elder Wand when he defeated Draco during the Battle of Hogwarts.
Who Is The True Owner Of The Elder Wand
Antioch Pevrell, one of the Pevrell brothers is the first owner of the Elder Wand. After several years, Gergorovitch is the next owner, the wand was stolen by Grindelwald from Gregorovitch. After Grindewald mastered the Elder wand, he was defeated by Dumbledore and imprisoned in Nurmengard. Grindelwald and Dumbledore used to be friends until Dumbledore lost his sister. They both had their passion for the Deathly Hallows in common, but the death of Dumbledores sister affected them.
However, Dumbledore did not duel Grindelwald for revenge, he did it to fight and overpower The Dark Lord. Later, Draco disarmed Dumbledore, to become the new master, and Harry Potter beat Draco at the Manor winning both his Hawthorn wand and the elder wand. Though Draco never used the elder wand, it was rightfully his till Harry defeated him.
The owner of the wand must win the wand in a duel. There cannot be two owners, and the elder wand decides its own destiny. When Voldermort removed the wand from Dumbledores tomb after killing Snape, he believed he was the rightful owner, but the wand rightfully belongs to Draco Malfoy because he disarmed Professor Dumbledore at the astronomy tower before Snape finished the job. The true owner of the wand is the person that overpowered its previous owner. When Harry potter destroyed it, he was the rightful owner.

The Beard In A Tie And The Beard Untied
Another big fashion change between the two Dumbledore actors is in the beard care. In the first two films, his beard is long and flowy. But when Gambon takes over, the beard gets tied up to appear more neat and elegant. The untied beard is more fitting of Dumbledoreâs character. Surely beard maintenance is a thing but Dumbledore would be the type of man to let the naturalness grow out.
Itâs kind of like Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, the longer the beard, the more magical the power? Maybe thatâs not legitimate but it seems like a good rule of thumb especially as we never see another wizard described as having such a long beard as we do when hearing about Dumbledore.

Why Did Harry Break The Elder Wand
Though Harry Potter is the rightful owner of the elder wand, after defeating Draco Malfoy. He resisted the urge to keep the wand for himself, and he broke it instead. Though the reason for this was not explained, some reasons come to mind. We should not forget the darkness that comes with owning the wand. Yes, Harry had control over the deathly hallows, but you could not tell how powerful they were combined. The death trailing the wand is another good reason to destroy instead of using the wand.
Some great wizards like Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore, and Severus Snape were all defeated to attain ownership of the wand. Dumbledore arrested Grindewald, Snape killed Dumbledore, Voldermort killed snape, while Harry killed Voldermort. Apart from these, previous wizards that have used the wand had too much power, and it consumed them. Owning the elder wand would also make Harry a likely target to those that want to own the wand.
If Harry kept the wand to himself, it must be won from him by beating him in a duel, and we have seen the length wizards can go to make themselves more powerful. Though Harry broke the wand because of the negativity and death that come with it. Harry might have used the wand for good deeds, but there is no telling what might happen later. Albus Didn’t Keep Harry Safe During The Triwizard Tournament
When Harry made it clear that he didn’t enter himself into the Triwizard Tournament, Dumbledore knew that something was wrong and that Harry’s life might be in danger.
