Did Snape Regret Tell Voldemort About The Prophecy

Why It Was So Dangerous For Voldemort To Retrieve The Prophecy

He had no reason not to tell Voldemort. Voldemort found out Lily was pregnant through Peter Pettigrew, I suspect, and immediately chose her unborn child as the man to which the prophecy referred. He let this slip to Snape for some reason, a revelation that brought Snapes dormant goodness to spring back to life.

Harry Potter’s Relationship With Severus Snape May Have Changed

Harry Potter would always be terrified of Severus Snape: he is a formidable character and his own Slytherin students fear him. But as one of his own students, Harry may have had a far closer relationship with Snape, not least because being Sorted into Slytherin would challenge the Professor’s belief that Harry is “just like his father.” In light of his more favorable treatment, Harry may have excelled in Potions long before he came into possession of Snape’s textbook because he would have had training from the man himself.

Would he have learned of the truth of his mission prior to Professor Snape’s death? Probably not, because Dumbledore’s agenda with Harry was always to keep him in the dark as much as possible, but the two would probably have enjoyed a less frosty relationship. That might also have impacted how much time and effort Harry spent assuming that Snape was the root of all evil and ignoring other helpful hints.

It’s still unlikely that Harry’s relationship with Lord Voldemort would have changed, however, because the Dark Lord was driven too much by his fear of the prophecy. While he attempted to recruit Lily and James Potter, their son still needed to be destroyed for Voldemort to thrive.

The Fate Of Lavenders Pet Rabbit

Lavender Brown, along with Padma and Parvati Patil, were huge Divination devotees and hung on to Professor Trelawneys every word like it was gospel. So when Lavender was warned that the thing she had been dreading would take place on Friday the sixteenth of October, she took it very, very seriously. Spookily, Lavender received a letter on that very day informing her that her rabbit had been killed by a fox.

Technically, had Lavender really been dreading the death of the little guy? Whether or not the wording was quite correct, the date was sound enough.

Is Neville Longbottom The Chosen One

Both Harry and Neville were chosen by the prophecy but, in the end, when it comes down to it Voldemort chose Harry over Neville and gave Harry his scar. Neville might not have been the Chosen One but he is every bit as brave as Harry Potter was and he continued to prove that to readers all throughout the series.

Harry Potter’s Prophecy And Choices

Most fantasy stories foretell a hero that will bring balance to a troubled world centuries or decades before they appear. However, Harry Potter’s story begins and ends with the character. When Voldemort’s uprising found its way to Lily and James Potter’s house, the Dark Lord killed Harry’s parents, but when Voldemort tried to kill him, he was unable to. This left Harry with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead and the moniker of “The Boy Who Lived.” Nevertheless, it was believed he would be the one who would ultimately defeat Voldemort.

As Harry got older and attended Hogwarts, he showed great promise in his magical skills and developed a close network of friends that supported and believed in him. Because of these friends and the magical gifts left by his parents, Harry had the internal strength to face Voldemort. However, it was his cleverness and selfless love for those closest to him that helped him survive Voldemort’s killing curse, thus ultimately defeating the Dark Lord all before he graduated..

Anakin Skywalker’s Prophecy And Choices

Anakin Skywalker’s journey as the chosen one began years before his birth. The prophecy told of a being who was powerful and would ultimately bring balance to the Force. However, due to the vagueness of the prophecy, it was hard to decipher where and when this chosen one or imbalance would take place. That changed when Qui-Gon Jinn found a young Anakin Skywalker and learned he was conceived through the Force and had an uncharacteristically high midichlorian count. Anakin would then join the Jedi Order and train under Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Unlike Harry, Anakin’s prophecy took decades. That being said, his story took a tragic turn when he went to the Dark Side to help his wife, Padmé, after seeing a vision that she would die in childbirth. Not only did he fail in saving her, but he also killed multiple Jedi and children in service of the Emperor, plunging the galaxy into turmoil as Darth Vader.

It wouldn’t be until his son, Luke Skywalker, showed him that there was still a way back from the Dark Side. At that moment, Vader relinquished his darkness and killed the Emperor. He would later die due to damage to his suit, but he died as Anakin Skywalker and was shown as a Force ghost in his form prior to becoming Darth Vader. Though he wavered, Anakin still fulfilled his prophecy at the cost of millions of lives.

Why Does Voldemort Have No Nose

Voldemort does not have a nose because his physical appearance changed due to him delving deeper and deeper into the dark magic. That made his face more serpentine and his nose changed into two snakelike slits. Some theories say he lost his body, experimenting with dark magic. Hence, he created his own body.

How Dumbledore Knew to Take Trelawney’s First Prophecy Seriously – Harry Potter Theory

Neville was born several hours before his classmate, Harry. As a pure-blood wizard, he was likely related to other wizarding families such as the Weasleys, Crouches, Potters, and the Blacks. Nevilles parents were members of the Order of the Phoenix and in these roles, they defied Lord Voldemort at least three times.

Anakin Skywalker Vs Harry Potter: Which Chosen One Reigns Supreme

The Prophecy

Harry Potter and Anakin Skywalker are possibly the most iconic chosen ones, but between the two heroes, which one is the most effective?

In fantasy and science-fantasy, the trope of the chosen one can always be found in some capacity. Typically this trope will focus on an individual who is gifted with a destiny to bring balance to a world in turmoil. Two of the best modern examples of this include Harry Potter and Anakin Skywalker of Star Wars .

Though these two characters couldn’t be further apart in terms of story and abilities, they are still chosen ones who have good hearts, no matter their choices. While both succeed in bringing balance to the world/universe, both characters go about it in very different ways. Considering the events and the results of their actions, which of these chosen heroes was the most effective in fulfilling their prophecy?

Dumbledore Rigged That Big Battle In Order Of The Phoenix

Albus Dumbledore has always been more devious than he seems, but a new fan theory suggests that the catastrophic battle at the end of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix happened because Dumbledore wanted it that way.

Recall that throughout Order of the Phoenix, the Order â which Dumbledore helms â has a mission to guard the door at the Department of Mysteries in the Ministry of Magic. As Harry later learns, it leads to the Prophecy Room holding the prophecy about Harry and Voldemortâs relationship.

Guarding this door is a dangerous job, as order member Sturgis Podmore gets an Azkaban sentence in the line of duty and Arthur Weasley nearly gets killed by Voldemortâs snake, Nagini. Itâs only thanks to Harryâs dreams, which give him a window into Voldemortâs mind, that Arthur is saved in time.

But did anyone stop to consider why the Order put so much time and energy into guarding a prophecy that Dumbledore knew Voldemort had already heard most of? A prophecy Dumbledore convinced Harry still didnât set the future in stone? One Reddit user proposed that, to Dumbledore, making a big deal over the door was the real plan.

The plan went perfectly too. The ministry is no longer able to stick its head in the sand and deny Voldemortâs return after the battle. But other than Sirius Black dying, everything in the battle worked out enormously in Dumbledoreâs favor.

It Would Not Be Too Presumptuous Therefore If We Were To Assume That There Will Be An End Battle

Firstly, we should note that Harry, being the one, has the power to vanquish the Dark Lord. Vanquish is a term meaning to defeat or conquer in battle. It would not be too presumptuous therefore, if we were to assume that there will be an end battle, in which one of either Harry or Voldemort will be victorious. The term vanquish however does not necessarily mean kill. It can also mean to overcome and subdue. This could probably suggest the way in which Harry would kill Voldemort. Although this would require an entirely separate analysis of its own, many, including I, believe that love is what will kill Voldemort. We have seen love in the Ministry of Magic, behind a door in the Department of Mysteries, which cannot be opened. When Voldemort possessed Harry during his duel with Dumbledore, it was the love and emotion inside Harry at the thought of Sirius which Voldemort could not stand. It is also love which prevented Harry being killed by Voldemort in the first place, in the way his mother died to save him. It would be useful to note here that Voldemort can now touch Harry despite this sacrifice. This too, is not without its mysteries:

Knowing That Someone From Her Class Would Leave Forever

We would win the Understatement of the Year award by suggesting that Hermione didnt quite like Divination. The biggest bookworm in Hogwarts denounced the subject as woolly and a lot of guesswork, so it wasnt terribly surprisingly when Hermione decided shed had enough of pulling apart Professor Trelawneys predictions and packed the lesson in.

Ironically, this actually fulfilled Trelawneys earlier prediction where she foretold that one of our number will leave forever. Cosmic! Or maybe she could just sense Hermione didnt like her.

There Are A Number Of Ways In Which The Prophecy Could Be Interpreted To Have Been Completed

EXPLAINING THE PROPHECY IN HARRY POTTER

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies Prophecy made to Albus Dumbledore by Sybill Trelawney

The most obvious way this clause could be fulfilled would be for Harry to kill Voldemort.Arguably, this did not happen, as the killing curse that ended Voldemorts life was cast by Voldemort himself.

Just as arguably, it did happen. Voldemort died because Harry chose to challenge him and put his will into reclaiming the Elder Wand, which is why the wand refused to kill him and rebounded.

Its like tying someone to the train tracks and then claiming that you didnt kill them. Technically, the train killed them. But youre still going to be tried for murder, and youre still fulfilling the prophecy.

The prophecy doesnt say that Harry has to kill Voldemort. One of them has to kill the other. The prophecy could just as easily be fulfilled if Voldemort killed Harry. Hm What happened back in the Forbidden Forest? True, Harry came back, but it could still be argued that Voldemort killed him.

As Voldemort didnt die by Harrys hand, that didnt happen.

The prophecy is one of the many highlights in the fifth instalment of the Harry Potter books. Dumbledore enlightens Harry to the reason why Voldemort wanted to kill him in the first place. One of Voldemorts followers had heard the first part of the prophecy, but was not fortunate enough to hear the rest, and so gave his master information that could point to two candidates Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. The significance of Neville within the prophecy is best explained by J K Rowling, who in a recent F.A.Q., said:

So where does this leave Neville, the boy who was so nearly King? Well, it does not give him either hidden powers or a mysterious destiny. He remains a normal wizarding boy, albeit one with a past, in its way, as tragic as Harrys. As you saw in Order of the Phoenix, however, Neville is not without his own latent strengths. It remains to be seen how he will feel if he ever finds out how close he came to being the Chosen One.
