What Daniel Radcliffe Looks Like Now On Harry Potter’s 41st Birthday

Fans across the globe are wishing Harry Potter a very happy birthday

In case you need reminding why, that’s because it’s the fictional wizard’s birthday.

In J.K. Rowling’s fantasy world Harry was born on July 31 and would be turning 41 today.

But how do we know his age? Well, his date and year of birth are spelled out clearly in J.K. Rowling’s very first book ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’.

The 223-page book was published in 1997 but set in 1991, and during that year the young wizard turns 11.

It’s a memorable moment in the novel as it is when Harry, who is living in the unloving household of his Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, meets half-giant Hagrid who goes on to reveal his true identity.

Harry shares the same birthday as Rowling, who was born in 1965 and turns 56 today. And, in an unlikely coincidence, Richard Griffiths who played Harry’s uncle, was born on July 31, 1947.

Griffiths sadly died at the age of 65 in 2013 following complications with heart surgery.

In real life, Daniel Radcliffe is 32 and has changed a lot since his last on-screen appearance as Harry in the Deathly Hallows Part 2 movie, released in 2011. His co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are 31 and 32 years old respectively.

Since the Harry Potter film series drew to a close, Radcliffe has stayed firmly in the TV and film industry.

What Happened When Harry And Voldemorts Wands First Dueled Each Other

Original on right. My edit on left. Who do think looks ...

In short- Priori Incatatum is exactly what happened. Harry and Voldemort first dueled in the graveyard of Voldemortâs father at the end of Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. During the duel, Harryâs wand overpowered Voldemortâs and forced it to show the spells Voldemort had recently performed.

Harry was able to see an âechoâ of Cedric Diggory, Frank Bryce , Bertha Jorkins, and then Harryâs own parents.

The echos formed a protective barrier of sorts between Voldemort and Harry, allowing Harry to get back to the portkey with Cedricâs body, and return back to the grounds of Hogwarts.

Voldemort In Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire

So Voldemort doesnt exactly choose this haircuthe did not go into a barber shop on Diagon Alley and say Take it down to the skull, my guyit is just probably extremely difficult to grow hair when you are a fetus-y type thing who was resurrected in a cauldron full of bones and blood. But! I gotta be honest, this is the perfect look for He Who Must Not Be Namedand hes clearly feeling it:

Its sinister and scary, as Voldemort is its repulsive, as Voldemort is and it really goes with the whole no-nose thing Voldemort is rocking. Really bad guy, really good haircut.

Aside from getting slightly sleeker from Goblet of Fire onward, Snapes hair doesnt change much over the course of the series. And thats a good thingSnapes chin-length bowl cut is his defining trait. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone ruined Daniel Radcliffes expectations for what is normal on a film set.

The Great Hall, where he shot many of the scenes from the first of eight films based on the J.K. Rowling series, was a phantasmagoria of detail. Platters of real lamb chops, roasted potatoes and puddings sat alongside 400 hand-lettered menus and for at least one scene hundreds of real, glowing candles. The hall set took 30 people a little over four months to construct.

I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of sets Ive been on since in my career that are of that scale, Radcliffe said in a video interview from his New York apartment in October.

Directed by Chris Columbus, the story of a boy who, upon turning 11, discovers hes a wizard and goes off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opened Nov. 16, 2001, and went on to gross more than $1 billion worldwide.

When Radcliffe and the young actors who played his friends, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were making the film, they werent just pretending to have the time of their lives they were, Columbus said.

I thought, I have to make a movie out of this, he said.

What The Harry Potter Cast Should Have Looked Like In The Movies

The Harry Potter series has grown into a large and beloved Wizarding world. But sometimes, it’s easy to forget the humble beginnings of each of these beloved characters. And while all of these cast members of Harry Potter have added unique and awesome qualities to their respective characters, many of them don’t quite fit J.K. Rowling’s descriptions.

Here’s what exact, faithful adaptations to the movies would have created!

  • In the movies, Harry Potter is an able-bodied athlete with blue eyes and a sharp jawline. He’s not the tallest student at Hogwarts, but he’s definitely got the charm and masculine features to make audiences swoon.

    22. Why Harry was only shown dancing from the waist up in the Yule Ball scene might surprise you. While the rest of the cast got three weeks of dancing practice, Daniel was only able to get in four days because he had a much heavier filming schedule. For this reason, they mainly used shots of Harry dancing from the waist up to avoid showing his stumbling feet.

    23. The character Nigel, who first appears in GoF and then in OotP, does not appear in the books at all. It is believed that he was introduced to act as a substitute for Colin Creevey and his brother Dennis because of his short stature, and his idolizing of Harry.

How She Looks In The Films

What These HARRY POTTER Characters Should Actually Look Like

Before getting her teeth shortened by Madam Pomfrey and discovering Sleekeazys Hair Potion, Hermione was known in the earlier Harry Potter books for having bushy hair and big teeth. In the films, Emma Watsons Hermione has a slightly different spin: her hair is more wavy than bushy, and her teeth are normal-sized for the most part. Christopher Columbus and Watson did indeed try out fake teeth in the first film, but the director quickly realised this was impractical.
