Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald
Two years after audiences were introduced to Newt Scamander, they were thrown back into the world of wizards with the November 2018 release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which served as another prequel to the Harry Potter story. With the evil wizard Grindelwald released into the world, it is up to Scamander, Tina, Queenie, and Jacob to stop him before his plan of world domination can be carried out. Making an appearance here is a young Albus Dumbledore , who turns to Scamander to help save the day once and for all.

Order Of The Phoenix Illustrated Edition
Ever since the illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was released in October 2019, fans around the world have been anxiously awaiting the release of the fifth book in the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. And while we wont see the title in bookstores in 2020, theres a chance we may see all those great illustrations from Jim Kay at some point in late 2021, especially if you consider the fact that there was a two-year break between the release of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
In February 2020, Jim Kay that he was hard at work on illustrating The Order of the Phoenix but the process was moving slower than he had hoped due to his constant battle with depression. He’s also since expressed gratitude for all of the support he’s received. He occasionally shares some amazing Potter-related sketches on his Instagram, so be sure to give him a follow if you want to keep up on his progress illustrating Order of the Phoenix. There havent been any further updates as of January 2021.

Harry Potter Reunion Special Release Date
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will be released on HBO Max on New Years Day 2022.
In addition to its release on 1st January 2021 on HBO Max, the reunion special will also air on TBS and Cartoon Network in Spring 2022 in the run-up to the theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
A press release confirming the special revealed that it will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.
Alongside actors Radcliffe, Watson and Grint, the director of the first two films, Chris Columbus, will also join the TV special to honour the magic behind the making of the films and the beautiful family created at Warner Bros Studios London two decades ago.
Harry Potter: Tournament Of Houses
Premiering on TBS and Cartoon Network on 28 November 2021, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses is a four-part quiz show celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter film series. This game show is designed to test contestants knowledge and skills when it comes to the finer details of the Wizarding World, wherein the participants are divided into the four major Hogwarts houses into groups of three. Hosted by Helen Mirren, the show will also include special guests, along with self-confessed Harry Potter fans and members of the original cast, such as Shirley Henderson, Tom Felton, Pete Davidson, and Jay Leno.
Apart from being an exciting limited event for long-time fans who will be able to test their own knowledge about the Wizarding World, Tournament of Houses will also be offering a $1000 shopping spree to the winning team at the Harry Potter New York Store. Tom Felton Reveals Who He Has To Share A Trailer With For Harry Potter Reunion In Bts Picture
Tom Felton has revealed his who heâs sharing a trailer with ahead of the Harry Potter reunion airing early next year.
To mark the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopherâs Stone, HBO Max made an incredible announcement. Soon, weâre returning to the world of witchcraft of wizardry with the franchiseâs stars, with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint coming back for an all-star get together.
Felton, who played Draco Malfoy throughout the series, recently revealed he was going âback to schoolâ on Instagram, stoking fansâ excitement. Now, heâs shared who heâll be forced to share a trailer with behind the scenes of the reunion.

In March 2020, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, the 2007 collection of childrens stories from J.K. Rowling was given the audiobook treatment with a star-studded cast including quite a few actors from the Harry Potter film franchise. With Warwick Davis, Noma Dumezweni, Jason Iassacs, and Jude Law, who provides insights as the voice of one Albus Dumbledore, all providing their voices to this well-written and acted audiobook, theres no reason for diehard fans to miss this one. A History Of Magic Illustrated
Fans who clamored for a proper illustrated version of A History of Magic were in for a treat with the October 2018 release of the companion book from the special exhibition of the same name. In addition to beautiful drawings of the wizard worlds greatest moments, the book also included original drafts and drawings from J.K. Rowling, as well as exclusive material only seen in this updated version of the book.
What Is The Master Of Death
The Master of Death is someone who possesses all three of the Deathly Hallows at the same time. But it is believed that being the Master of Death doesn’t grant one immortality, but that it is rather a title one carries, having accepted death which in itself is a form of defeat, and also a form of immortality, depending on your perspective. This is what Dumbledore says of becoming Master of Death: “The true master does not seek to run away from Death. He accepts that he must die, and understands that there are far, far worse things in the living world than dying.”
But then it’s no surprise Dumbledore knows so much, having been in possession of all three Deathly Hallows himself throughout his life. During their youth, Dumbledore and dark-lord-to-be Gellert Grindelwald became obsessed with finding and uniting the three Deathly Hallows and becoming Masters of Death.
So is Dumbledore a Master of Death? After all, he too previously owned all three Deathly Hallows he borrowed the Invisibility Cloak from James Potter, he came upon the Resurrection Stone which, like the cloak, he later gives to Harry, and he was the owner of the Elder Wand. Fantastic Beasts 3 Cast
There are a lot of familiar faces in the Fantastic Beasts 3 cast. Unsurprisingly, the movies central quartet is all back in action: Eddie Redmayne as magizoologist Newt Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Auror Tina Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Newts No-Maj BFF Jacob Kowalski, and Alison Sudol as Legilimens Queenie Goldstein. Callum Turner also confirmed to Yahoo! Movies that hell be back as Newts older Auror brother Theseus Scamander, while Jude Law is reprising his role as the younger incarnation of Wizarding World mainstay and Hogwarts professor Albus Dumbledore.
The major casualty of The Crimes of Grindelwald was Leta Lestrange, who sacrificed herself to save Newt, Tina, Jacob, Theseus, and more that means were only likely to see Zoë Kravitz in flashback or via magic .
There are also recognizable figures on the dark side of the Fantastic Beasts 3 cast, with Ezra Miller back as troubled Credence Barebone. Wed also be incredibly surprised if Claudia Kim doesnt also come back as Nagini, the Maledictus fated to become Voldemorts snake sidekick ahead of the Harry Potter era.
The biggest change is Grindelwald. Johnny Depp has stepped down from the role following a court battle, and Mads Mikkelsen has been cast as his replacement, while Colin Farrell who many hoped would return to the series was not able to take on the part as he’s committed to filming The Batman. The switch, though, is not something Mikkelsen has talked to Depp about, per The Sunday Times.
Fantastic Beasts 3 Trailer: Any Fantastic Beasts 3 Footage Yet
Filming might have finished, but we’re no closer to any footage from Fantastic Beasts 3 yet, we’re afraid.
The first teaser trailer for The Crimes of Grindelwald was released in March 2018, eight months ahead of the sequel’s release. A similar timeline would put the first trailer for the threequel landing in December 2021.
That’s speculative for now, but Warner Bros does have some big movies later this year, including The Matrix 4, that it could be promoted with.

Will Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Be Made Into A Film
- There are reportedly no plans to adapt Harry Potter and the Cursed Child into a movie at the time of writing.
While fans may be clamouring for Harry Potter to return to the big screen, according to the Express, there are reportedly no plans for a Cursed Child movie for the time being.
However, speaking to the publication, Harry Potter producer Lionel Wigram said: I think would make a great movie. Maybe at some point, shell be ready to do that. I think its got a wonderful, long, theatrical runit works brilliantly as a piece of theatre.
In the same article, the Express reports that Warner Bros stated that: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a stage play, with no plans for there to be a film.
This position seems to remain unchanged with Warner Bros focusing on the five-film Fantastic Beasts series, three instalments of which are yet to be released.
The Director Says The Actors Are Just About The Right Age To Star In An Adaptation
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint haven’t reprised their roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley for a decade now, but the director of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Chris Columbus, wants to bring the gang back together for one more ride.
Speaking to Variety, Columbus said he would love to work on a movie adaptation of The Cursed Child, a 2016 Harry Potter play that takes place 19 years after the final book in the series ends.
“I would love to direct ‘The Cursed Child,'” Columbus said. “Its a great play and the kids are actually the right age to play those roles. Its a small fantasy of mine.”
Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint are all in their early 30s, making them about the right age to play Harry, Ron, and Hermione on the big screen once again for this story. The Cursed Child focuses on Harry and Draco Malfoy’s children, with the original heroes serving as supporting characters. The play was a big hit on Broadway, setting records when it opened in 2018.

Columbus directed 2001’s The Sorcerer’s Stone and 2002’s sequel, The Chamber of Secrets. He also served as producer on Prisoner of Azkaban. David Yates took over directing duties for the final four Harry Potter movies, and also directed the first two Fantastic Beasts movies.
Yates is next helming The Secrets of Dumbledore, the third movie in the Fantastic Beasts spinoff series set to be released next year.

Fantastic Beasts 3 Controversy
The Crimes of Grindelwald had the lowest box office in the history of the Wizarding World, and was arguably the least popular with cinema audiences. But the new movie has even bigger challenges to face if its going to be a success theres so much Fantastic Beasts 3 controversy out there right now that it could put an Avada Kedavra curse on the saga.
J.K. Rowlings controversial Twitter posts and 3,800-word essay about the transgender community have attracted extensive backlash from Harry Potter fans, with Wizarding World stars including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Eddie Redmayne publicly distancing themselves from the . Johnny Depp was involved in a libel case that made lots of unsavory allegations about his private life and was later kicked from the movie.
Meanwhile, the casting of Korean actress Claudia Kim as Nagini was considered by many to be racially insensitive , and many are upset that Dumbledores much-talked-about romantic relationship with Grindelwald has been invisible on-screen. The franchise has turned into something of a magnet for negative headlines.

Why Isnt Everyone Excited For Harry Potter And The Cursed Child
The announcement of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child way back in 2015 came as quite a surprise especially with the news that the eighth Harry Potter story wouldnt be a novel, but a play a real play, performed on Londons West End. It sold out immediately for its entire run, but thats no surprise. It didnt exactly have millions of seats. Later, it was announced that a book version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child would come out the day after the premiere, also in play form.
And since then, sure, people are interested. But excitement for Harry Potter 8, even though its just two weeks away, is nowhere near the level of anticipation for, say, Game of Thrones or Winds of Winter. Every site on the Internet isnt chock full of stories about Harry Potter we arent overwhelmed by theories, questions, reports from people who have seen the previews. For a sold out show from the biggest media property basically ever, its surprisingly quiet.
Whatever it is, lets hope Harry Potter and the Cursed Child meets our vision of what an eighth Harry Potter story could be. Well find out soon enough.

In addition to Fantastic Beasts 3 there is reportedly another Harry Potter project in the works, instead of taking a theatrical route, this one if it actually pans out will be coming to HBO Max in the form of a television series. In January 2021, The Hollywood Reporter released a report stating that very early discussions were happening for a live-action series set within the Harry Potter universe, but there has been no word as to what the story will be about or even a confirmation from Warner Bros, who has denied that any Harry Potter TV show is currently in development at the studio or HBO Max
Hopefully Not True: The Rumored Show Will Explore Different Parts Of Europe
If the news of the upcoming Harry Potter series is true, there have also been rumors of the show taking place in different parts of Europe. We did get to see some wizards from other parts of Europe in the Goblet of Fire, but Hogwarts is certainly the most interesting setting and its one wed prefer to watch!
