Is Tom Riddle Half

He does not deny his half-blood status, but he is clear that Muggles are inferior, including his own father. His viciousness to Muggle-borns is connected: Riddle may be half-blood, but Muggle-borns can claim no wizarding heritage, therefore to him they are as low as Muggles themselves.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix gets political in big way: despite Voldemorts revival at the end of GoF, the Ministry of Magic continues to deny all rumors and refuse to take action, worried that theyll upset the public. This means the real adults have to take a leaf out of Harry, Ron, and Hermiones book and start fighting him themselves, through an underground vigilante group called the Order of the Phoenix.

But the Order cant do much about Dolores Umbridge, the newly instated and highly sadistic Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts, who perpetuates the Ministrys lies about Voldemort. When Harry openly defies her in class, she retaliates by giving him chronic detention during which he must write lines with a blood quill that carves the words into the back of his hand. Despite this torment, he and the rest of the class do not acquiesce to Umbridge, and establish a secret defense organization for themselves called Dumbledores Army.

On top of all that, Harry keeps having frequent, harrowing visions of Voldemort when hes asleep, and must take Occlumency lessons with Professor Snape to prevent them. This is a different kind of torture, with Snape forcing entry into Harrys private memories at every lesson and relishing the opportunity to cause him pain. Of course, Snapes own twisted motivations are revealed when Harry gains access to his memories one of which is a bitter altercation with Harrys father.

Almost The Whole Plot Is Explained

Im writing a novel right now, and cranking out draft after draft of my first chapter. Lots of articles and books about writing say how pressed editors and agents are for time. If you want to grab their attention, it has to be in the first chapter, and even in the first paragraph.

Somewhere along the way, I came across an interview with J. K. Rowling where she talked about the first chapter of The Philosophers Stone. She said:

I reckon I must have got through fifteen different alternative chapters of Book 1. The reason for which I discarded each of them were they all gave too much away. In fact, if you put all those discarded first chapters together, almost the whole plot is explained.

Im not fifteen rewrites deep into my chapter, but J. K. Rowlings reflection on her own work has given me plenty to think about. Have I been giving too much away? Am I stuffing in too much extraneous world-building? Am I cramming in setups that only confuse the reader with what isnt relevant? Am I spoiling some of the mystery? Is my opening striking the right tone? And does the writing have the power to make peoples toes curl?

I wondered what other wisdom I might find in the early chapters of The Philosophers Stone. So I cracked open the book and re-read it with a critical eye.

Ever since the boa constrictor escaped from the zoo, Harry was locked in his cupboard for the longest time ever. When Harry is finally allowed out, its the beginning of the summer holidays. Even though he is not at school, Harry still cant escape Dudley and his gang, who regularly visit the house. To keep out of their way, Harry usually wanders around Privet Drive. He is glad, however, that Dudley and Piers are going to Smeltings Academy, while Harry is going to attend Stonewall High. One day during the summer, Harry is told to get the post for Uncle Vernon. When Harry goes to get the mail, there are three letters: a postcard from Uncle Vernons sister, who is on holiday in the Isle of Wight, a letter that looks like a bill, and a letter for Harry. Harry Potter And The Cursed Child: The Eight Book Or Not

Just seven books! That was J.K. Rowlings promise to her ever-growing fans, most of which might have become a bit more matured now.

In 2007, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows hit the shelves. And it was the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series, according to J.K. Rowling herself. She even said her goodbyes after releasing the book.

In the Harry Potter series final edition, teenage romances were finally resolved, prophecies got fulfilled, and all thirst for more adventure was satisfied.

But in July 2016, it seemed like fans were going to get a new Harry Potter adventure to rekindle the passion they once had for the fantasy novel. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child got released.

Seeing J.K. Rowlings name boldly written on the books front cover, most fans quickly thought that their beloved fantasy writer was back to business. It seemed like she had thought about continuing the Harry Potter series.

So, are the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child a canon? Was it the eighth book in the series?

Unfortunately, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child go against everything a canon should be. So its literarily not a canon.

The book is a play and not a novel. It was also written by Jack Thorne, a Potter enthusiast, and British playwright.

The Cursed Child was a script based on an idea brought to light by John Thorne, J.K. Rowling, and John Tiffany, the Cursed Childs director.

The Making Of Harry Potter

In March 2011, Warner Bros. announced plans to build a tourist attraction in the United Kingdom to showcase the Harry Potter film series. The Making of Harry Potter is a behind-the-scenes walking tour featuring authentic sets, costumes and props from the film series. The attraction is located at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden, where all eight of the Harry Potter films were made. Warner Bros. constructed two new sound stages to house and showcase the famous sets from each of the British-made productions, following a £100 million investment. It opened to the public in March 2012.

Publication And Reception In The United Kingdom

Bloomsbury accepted the book, paying Rowling a £2,500 advance, and Cunningham sent proof copies to carefully chosen authors, critics and booksellers in order to obtain comments that could be quoted when the book was launched. He was less concerned about the book’s length than about its author’s name, since the title sounded like a boys’ book to him, and he believed boys preferred books by male authors. Rowling therefore adopted the nom de plumeJ.K. Rowling just before publication. In June 1997, Bloomsbury published Philosopher’s Stone with an initial print-run of 500 copies in hardback, three hundred of which were distributed to libraries. Her original name, “Joanne Rowling”, can be found on the copyright page of all British editions until September 1999. The short initial print run was standard for first novels, and Cunningham hoped booksellers would read the book and recommend it to customers. Examples from this initial print run have sold for as much as US$471,000 in a 2021 Heritage Auction.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone won two publishing industry awards given for sales rather than literary merit, the British Book Awards Children’s Book of the Year and the Booksellers’ Association / Bookseller Author of the Year. By March 1999 UK editions had sold just over 300,000 copies, and the story was still the UK’s best-selling title in December 2001. A Braille edition was published in May 1998 by the Scottish Braille Press.

While not part of the original seven-book series, Cursed Child and the accompanying stage play have become a generally accepted addition to the Harry Potter canon. This 336-page text picks up where the Deathly Hallows epilogue left off, with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Malfoy sending their unfortunately named kids off to Hogwarts Harrys son Albus and Malfoys son Scorpius serve as our protagonists this time around. Upon arrival at Hogwarts, the boys are both sorted into Slytherin and forge an unlikely friendship, which naturally causes tension between Albus and Harry over the next few years.

After a fight with his father, Albus overhears Cedric Diggorys father Amos asking Harry to use a more powerful version of a Time Turner to go back in time and rescue his son. When Harry refuses, Albus enlists Scorpius to help him save Cedric, with the aid of Diggorys niece Delphi. However, as anyone whos seen Back to the Future can attest, messing with timelines is never a good idea especially in the wizarding world. Things are further complicated by the fact that Delphi is not who she says she is, and may have sinister ulterior motives when it comes to rewriting history.

Harrys last month with the Dursleys is both relieving and depressing. His aunt and uncle pretend that Harry isnt there, and Dudley has become so scared of his cousin that he refuses to be anywhere near him. Harry keeps to himself in the smallest bedroom with Hedwig for company as he reads through his new books.

The day before he is due to leave, Harry asks Uncle Vernon to take him to Kings Cross Station. Uncle Vernon agrees to take him but ridicules him for saying he is to leave from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, as is marked on the ticket Hagrid gave him.

The next day, the Dursleys abandon Harry at the station. He stands between Platforms Nine and Ten, wondering how to find Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. He is stumped for a while until he overhears Molly Weasley use the word muggles, and he asks her for help. She tells him to run through the barrier between Platforms Nine and Ten, which he does, and he is astonished to find the train to Hogwarts on the other side of the station.

Mrs Weasleys twin sons, third-years Fred and George Weasley, help him lift his trunk onto the train before recognising him as Harry Potter, and their younger brother Ron, a first-year, asks to sit with him.
